About Us

The Office for Community Affairs (OCA), created by Cabinet Decision Nr. 06/34 on the Creation of the Office, on 3 September 2008 , was established within the Office of the Prime Minister to act as focal point within the Government for community issues.

By maintaining awareness of communities’ concerns through liaising with state institutions and non-state actors, the OCA analyses the situation, identifies gaps in the implementation of legislation, recommends measures to the Prime Minister, highlights objectives for each governmental body and monitors the impact of measures undertaken by each governmental institution at the community level.

Furthermore, the OCA serves as a primary distributor of information on governmental actions for communities to a wide audience, in particular to communities’ members, and raises community awareness on their rights.

The OCA also uses its fund to support initiatives addressing identified gaps and needs of communities.
